What is it about leadership that blocks change?
In a recent survey undertaken by ICiPS, all but one respondents cited ‘leadership’ as the main blocker for delivering CI.
We have just completed analysis of our recent survey which intended to baseline how well continuous improvement has been embedded within the public sector. 140 people responded but the results of one question in particular took ICiPS by surprise Debbie Simpson, Acting CEO explains ‘One question asked individuals to state what they considered to be the biggest blocker to change and I was astounded to find that all but one respondent cited this to be leadership. It is clear we now need to conduct further research to understand what lies behind this perception and identify any practical support that ICiPS can provide to help overcome it’.
