Learning from failure

Great results from CI activities for the British Library.

ICiPS members learn about how the British Library have successfully embedded CI.

A group of ICiPS members enjoyed a site visit to the British Library at Wetherby to learn about their approach to CI and how they have successfully embedded it across the organisation from the packing room, where employees negated the need to purchase dispatch boxes, to copying where a simple change in printing slashed print costs overnight. ICiPS CEO Debbie Simpson said ‘CI is clearly embedded across the organisation and the buy in and enthusiasm of the employees was evident. The British Library not only talk about empowerment they practice it and in my experience that is rare.More importantly financial, motivational and customer benefits are being delivered as a result.’
ICiPS is organising a second visit in late summer, if anyone would like to join please contact Debbie@icips.org.
If you would like to showcase your CI work to a small group of members, please let ICiPS know.
