To devise a range of innovative solutions and opti
ons for managers to
consider in order to achieve targets and objectives
through alternative
forms of service delivery.
•
To contribute to, and where appropriate, lead proj
ect teams.
•
To liaise with colleagues from across the Council
to contribute to cross-
Council projects and programmes, including (but not
limited to) ICT,
communications, property, legal, HR, finance and po
licy departments.
•
To provide work load supervision of Trainee Busine
ss Analysts, including
the identification of training requirements.
•
To use a range of business improvement tools and t
echniques, including
Lean, Systems Thinking and BPR to focus processes o
n the customer
and generate efficiencies by reducing ‘waste’.
•
To provide specialist advice and guidance to colle
agues on the use of
business improvement and project management tools a
nd techniques,
acting as a critical friend.
•
To document and record projects, including options
appraisal, financial
and non-financial savings, business cases, project
plans and risk and
issue logs in line with the Council’s corporate pro
ject management toolkit.
•
To undertake value for money exercises to ensure t
he Council is
achieving economic, efficient and effective use of
its resources.
•
To provide a link between ICT and the business in
identifying, specifying
and implementing ICT systems that deliver business
improvements.
•
To contribute to the development of policies and p
rocedures to support
new and improved working practices.
•
To design, implement and maintain the Council’s Bu
siness Improvement
toolkit.
•
To undertake research from a range of internal and
external sources to
inform project development.
