Job Description:

JOB PURPOSE
To deliver business improvements from concept to the realisation of benefits. The Business Process Improvement Lead will use their critical analysis skills and experience
of streamlining processes to identify opportunities for, and then engage with services to deliver efficiency savings and service improvements. Deployment of business analysis
techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, Business Process Re-engineering and Systems thinking to facilitate business change.
1 Effectively lead the delivery of Business Improvement diagnostics and process redesign work packages commissioned within project and programme frameworks. Deployment of industry standard business analysis techniques in high profile business areas.
2 Lead Business Improvement cross functional teams in a matrix environment deploying a range of business analysis tools and techniques appropriate to the situation in the
pursuit of positive business outcomes (e.g. Lean/Six Sigma Business Process Reengineering/Systems thinking). Apply a flexible approach tailored to business situation.
3 Plan, manage and control Business Improvement interventions from the initial scoping stage through to the delivery of the agreed business change.
4 Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions and operating models whilst maintaining positive working relationships and stakeholder engagement to ensure that
effort, enthusiasm and resources are committed to business improvement and operational efficiency.
5 Coach, mentor and support officers to create capacity and enable services to adopt business improvement techniques as part of continuous service improvement. Develop a lasting cultural improvement legacy within the business area.
6 Ensure that business benefits are identified, forecast and delivered using robust data and benefits realisation management tools and techniques.
7 Ensure that customer requirements are clearly identified using robust data and customer feedback. Develop service design models which most effectively meet customer demand and provide maximum value for money. Working closely with the service commissioner, prepare detailed service delivery options appraisals to inform the commissioning cycle.
8 Develop robust business cases and effectively communicate a compelling case for change to senior managers, elected members and staff working in the business area. Motivate and lead the stakeholders through the change journey.
9.Facilitate service design workshops and provide effective and objective challenge using appropriate tools using an engaging style. Effectively manage conflict whilst
maintaining focus and building trust and respect.
10 Working closely with the Business Improvement Analyst, lead the identification, gathering, interpretation and communication of key data using appropriate tools and
techniques (e.g. Pareto/Control charts/Histograms).
11 Produce accurate, detailed ‘As is’ and ‘To be’ process maps using appropriate software (e.g. Visio).
Salary range £38,861 to £45,125
