Continuous improvement is simply good management practice, constantly evaluating performance, products and services to ensure customer requirements are met as efficiently and effectively as possible. Changes in customer needs and the operating environment makes C.I. a never ending journey and as such it should be considered an integral part of ‘how things are done’ and not a one off or stand alone initiative.
The natural outcome of C.I. is faster and more cost effective delivery, satisfied customers and an engaged workforce. Applying robust management principles is key to success, engendering a culture of C.I.
A large number of tools and information exist to enable fact based decision making and to ensure a successful outcome. The ICiPS world of knowledge signposts you to resources that it believes will support you in understanding and applying the principles of CI and developing your professional competence.
If you are new to CI a KEY document is our Integr8 model which provides a framework which provides questions and tools that can help embed CI and implement change; this living document is changed as new approaches are identified.
