Job Description:

Fera’s vision is to respond to challenges posed by population growth, environmental change, food security and safety, through original thinking and world class science. Fera Science Ltd is based just outside the historical city of York.
Our Transformation Team is responsible for managing and facilitating change across all aspects of Fera’s operations. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Fera’s growth plans. Bringing your Lean analytical skills you will enhance the capabilities within the team by being responsible for analysing existing work practices, making proposals and enabling, implementing and embedding change across Fera.The post holder will have the opportunity to learn about the impact that Fera has to protecting people, what they eat and the world in which they live.

Role Accountabilities:
The role will appeal to someone who can confidently work with managers from across the organisation to identify potential areas of improvement, conduct feasibility studies, and recommend improvement projects.
We are looking for a dynamic and driven individual who will enjoy taking responsibility for leading projects from inception to closure, co-ordinating the activities of work colleagues, and delivering successful outcomes

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Take ownership of initiatives, manage successful delivery of milestones through to completion ensure project outputs are delivered on time and to quality standards.
2.Use work place observations, discussions with stakeholders and information from existing systems to create datasets relevant to the project.
3.Use analytical techniques to identify and critically evaluate Fera’s processes, and propose changes to be implemented, mapping associated benefits and developing benefit realisation plans.
4.Delve underneath the surface issues and concerns to establish root cause and propose credible solutions.
5.Provide verbal and presentation progress updates and recommendations to Project Sponsors, Senior Leaders, Fera Executive and other stakeholders.

Key Skills and Knowledge Relevant to the role:
1.Use strong analytical skills, inquisitive nature and original thinking.
2.Knowledge and experience of applying Lean.
3.Prince2 is desirable, but not essential.
4.Ability to turn analysis into recommendations for change.
5.Ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, including influencing and persuading, and developing productive relationships.
6.Strongly numerate with Advanced Excel skills – able to quickly analyse large datasets, interpret findings and present results in a format that is understandable to the audience
7.Willing to engage in all aspects to embedding change; to challenge, train, coach or mentor in project management / planning / data interpretation skills as appropriate.
